Data analysis helps to understand contemporary economic trends, is crucial to evaluate economic policies and is imperative in economic modeling and forecasting. The age of Big Data has led to the development of new quantitative methods for data analysis. The Master's degree programme MiQE/F offers you a variety of courses to perform quantitative analyses of the highest standard.

Our research-oriented faculty brings the latest research into inspiring class rooms discussions. Therefore, the MiQE/F provides an excellent basis for moving on to management positions in the private sector or policy institutions as well as for highly selective Ph.D. programmes worldwide.

The MiQE/F offers you a flexible programme to develop your own study profile. In addition to the compulsory courses you have the opportunity to select from a rich menu of core electives and electives.

 

    Do you want to study internationally?

    MiQE/F students experience an international environment with courses entirely taught in English. During your studies, you meet and work with students and lecturers with diverse cultural backgrounds from all over the world. The MiQE/F supports exchange semesters after you have completed the compulsory courses in the first two semesters of your Master's studies. The University of St.Gallen has exchange agreements with more than 200 partner universities across the world. Moreover, the freemover programme offers the opportunity of an exchange semester with several other universities worldwide.

    As a MiQE/F student, you also have the possibility to apply for attractive double degree programmes with renowned schools such as:

    • Stockholm School of Economics (SSE)
    • ESADE Barcelona
    • HEC Paris
    • RSM Rotterdam
    • Bocconi University Milano

    As a double degree student, you spend the first year at the University of St.Gallen and the second year at one of our partner institutions. Upon completion of two academic years, you will be awarded two Master's degrees.

    Alternatively, MiQE/F students may apply for the CEMS Master's in International Management - a joint project of the community of European Management Schools.

     

    Do you want to bridge the gap between economists and programmers or statisticians?

    The MiQE/F provides you with the necessary knowledge and skills to optimally prepare you for versatile careers: policy and financial institutions as well as the private sector are increasingly confronted with complex problems requiring confident application of methods as well as a deep understanding of economic processes and the finance sector. MiQE/F graduates are prepared for ambitious labour market careers in the areas of  banking and finance, consulting, and insurance.

     

    Do you plan a career as a researcher?

    The MiQE/F does not only prepares you ideally for the Graduate Programme in Economics and Finance (GPEF) at the University of St.Gallen, but also offers access to highly selective Ph.D. programmes worldwide.
