General
  • Asia Compact differs from a typical exchange program in both time frame and format.
  • Asia Compact courses are offered by HSG’s master’s programs and hosted by the St.Gallen Institute of Management in Asia, which is the local institute of the University of St.Gallen in Singapore.
  • Asia Compact courses take place in Singapore during semester breaks (Spring term: calendar weeks 14/15; Autumn term: calendar weeks 44/45)
  • Asia Compacts are week-long (5 to 6 days) condensed block courses, usually 4 ECTS credits.
  • Asia Compacts follow a special application process (detailed in course fact sheets) that precedes and does not require bidding.
General application prerequisites
  • Enrolled in a HSG master’s program at the time of application.
  • Your enrolled program recognizes the Asia Compact course of interest to you as core electives or electives and confers credits accordingly.

  • Asia Compact courses are always scheduled during term breaks. Spring term: calendar weeks 14/15; Autumn term: calendar weeks 44/45.
  • Each Asia Compact is structured to be a 5- or 6-day intense block course in Singapore. In some cases, a kickoff session in St.Gallen will be arranged to prepare students for the coursework and ground logistics ahead.

Since Asia Compact offerings are HSG courses, Asia Compact courses directly count toward HSG credits (no transfer needed). However, students should make sure that their enrolled program recognizes and accredits certain Asia Compact courses (as electives, for example) before proceeding to the special application process.
