Crediting The mutual recognition of course work makes it possible for you to complete a Master's degree from both institutions in just two years. Credit for the MIA degree To be awarded the M.A. HSG degree you must complete a total of 90 credits. DDP students only complete 60 credits in St.Gallen, while three to four courses completed at Universidad de los Andes can be credited to the M.A. HSG, corresponding to another 30 credits. The students can thus select three to four courses from the compulsory and core elective subjects of the Maestría en Ciencia Política. The grades at Universidad de los Andes are converted for credit in St.Gallen as follows: Grading Scale Universidad de los Andes University of St.Gallen 5.0 6.0 4.5 5.5 4.0 5.0 3.5 4.5 3.0 4.0 < 3.0 < 4.0 Calculation of the grade average The grade average of the M.A. HSG results from the weighting of the completed 90 credits. For Ph.D. studies at the University of St.Gallen, a grade average of 5.0 is required. Calculation of negative weighted credit points The calculation of the negative weighted credit points takes into account the three to four courses completed at Universidad de los Andes (30 ECTS), which are credited to the M.A. HSG. Across the total of 90 credits, 13.5 negative weighted credit points may be accumulated. Note: The DDP with the Universidad de los Andes is still in its initial phase. Curricula as well as crediting schemes are therefore subject to change.
