Curriculum The Major in Economics offers you the widest range of possibilities for deepening your interest in various subjects. More than half the credits in core studies can be earned in freely chosen courses. Core studies (80 credits) are structured into the three parts of compulsory subjects, core electives and (free) electives. You will have to attend compulsory subjects in the core courses in Economics and one course in Business Administration in two semesters. Thanks to the concentration of these courses on the 3rd and 4th semesters of the degree course, you will be able to frame your 5th and 6th semesters completely freely and thus to go on an exchange semester without any problems. You will be able to compile your individual programme of core electives and (free) electives from a wealth of courses in Economics. Also, you will be free to attend courses in Business Administration and Law that appeal to you. Core studies are complemented by contextual studies (24 credits). Furthermore, you will have to write a Bachelor’s thesis (16 ECTS). You will have to provide evidence of English as a foreign language at Level C2. The Major in Economics can be completed in German and English. Students who take up their studies in the Major in Economics as of Autumn Semester 2014 must earn a minimum number of credits from courses in German and English. At least 9 credits of core studies must be earned in both German and English.
