FAQ – Frequently asked questions about the Major in Business Administration

General Information

With a Bachelor of Business Administration, you are well prepared for many Master's programs. At the University of St.Gallen, you can seamlessly continue with any master's program of the School of Management after completing the Bachelor of Business Administration. Exceptions are the Master Strategy and International Management (SIM), the Master in Management, Organization and Culture (MOK), and the Master in Banking and Finance (MBF) of the School of Finance, for which there are special application and selection procedures.

Study Organisation

In principle, the general admission requirements for the Bachelor's program at the University of St.Gallen apply. Most students start their Bachelor in Business Administration studies following the successful completion of the Assessment Year. However, there are also opportunities to enter the Bachelor in Business Administration program directly. For all questions regarding admission, please contact the  Admissions Office of the University of St.Gallen.

Generally, you will start in the Autumn Semester with the Major in Business Administration. There are certain exceptions where starting in the Spring Semester is possible, for example, if you are transferring from another university.

Study Design

No, this is not possible. Only one specialisation is shown in the grade transcript for the Bachelor's degree.

Depending on the course, the lectures in the Major in Business Administration are completed with a centrally or decentrally organised examination. In addition, there are courses in which partial achievements are to be completed during the semester. The form of the examinations are documented in the Course Fact Sheet and are legally binding from the beginning of the semester. The central examinations take place outside the lecture period (see schedule). Decentrally organised examinations take place during the lecture period and are announced by the faculty during the semester.
