Freemover Even if you are studying at a university outside our partner network, you can participate in a guest semester at the University of St.Gallen ("HSG") as a Freemover. Requirements for an application as a Freemover Applicants must have a school leaving certificate recognized by the HSG. Official Immatriculation in a degree programme at a university outside the HSG partner network Applications from students at universities of applied sciences (Fachhochschulen) or from Ph.D. students are not eligible for the freemover programme Additional requirements have to be submittet at the time of application: Bachelor Level: Immatriculation in a bachelor programme Evidence of at least 80 completed ECTS credits in study fields similiar to HSG bachelor degree studies* Minimum grade average of current bachelor achievements of 5.0** Master Level: Immatriculation in a master programme Evidence of successfully completed bachelor degree studies with a minimum grade average of 5.0** in study fields similar to HSG bachelor degree studies* Evidence of completed credits from the first semester of their master degree programme with a minimim grade average of 5.0** in study fields similar to the HSG master degree studies* A Freemover semester is only possible as of the second semester of the master degree studies at the earliest *business administration, economics, international affairs and political sciences or law **according to Swiss grading system, corresponds to 2.0 in the German or Austrian grading system Information about the application process Application and admin fee To be able to apply as a Freemover at the University of St.Gallen you need to pay an application and admin fee of CHF 250 via HSG payment portal. This fee is non-refundable. Applications will only be processed after the payment of the application and admin fee. Costs If you are accepted as a Freemover, you will need to pay tuition fees at the University of St.Gallen. An separate invoice will be sent to you before the semester begins. As a Freemover, you are not eligible for a SEMP scholarship (former Erasmus*). Courses During your Freemover exchange semester at the University of St.Gallen you have to take a course load of at least 16 ECTS. Freemover students, as with all visiting students, you will have access to an extensive course offer. The course programme can be found under course information. Available places in courses are limited. Course allocation takes place via bidding system. Examinations All guest students are permitted to take examinations during the lecture period resp. during official semester term dates. Detailed information can be found in the Course and Exam fact sheet for guest students. Continuing studies at the HSG If you intend to begin a regular degree course at the HSG after your visiting semester, please note that examinations may only be counted towards an HSG degree course if they are taken during the regular HSG examination blocks. However, we cannot guarantee accreditation of these courses. Applications for degree studies at the HSG are checked again by the Admissions and Crediting Office.
