Pride Month 2021

From 4 - 27 October, the second Pride Month will take place at the University of St.Gallen.

4 October 2021. In October 2020, the campus of the University of St. Gallen lit up in rainbow colours for the first time. The first Pride Month was a complete success, which is why this year's edition builds on last year's success by keeping the tried and tested and expanding it with new goals. At its core, the message remains the same: to raise awareness that LGBTQ+ people come from the middle of society and to send a message that all people are welcome at our university regardless of their background. The aim is to create awareness for LGBTQ+ issues and visibility for queer students and staff.

«Pride is for everyone»

This year, there is a special focus on the theme of "allyship", i.e. acting in solidarity with LGBTQ+ people, even if one does not belong to this group oneself. The motto "Pride is for everyone" is meant to express that the action is deliberately not limited to LGBTQ+ people, but wants to give every person the courage to freely develop and evolve regardless of their background - without fear of discrimination. In the long term, this is intended to create a community at the university characterised by inclusivity, acceptance and openness. In addition to various events at the university itself, Pride Month was extended to the entire city area this year in order to involve the people of St.Gallen even more in the project.

All information is also available under pridemonth.ch.
