HSG at the OFFA 2022

From the library and the public programme to SQUARE: the public services of the University of St.Gallen (HSG) are diverse. They will be presented at the 44th spring and trend fair, OFFA.

4 April 2022. After a two-year break caused by corona, the HSG will be back at the OFFA from 20-24 April 2022. Visitors will be able to obtain information about the HSG’s public services at the stand of the University of St.Gallen. We are pleased to be able to welcome you in the Olma Hall 3.1, Stand 3.1.16.

For all age groups

At its fair stand, the University of St.Gallen (HSG) will present a many-faceted range of events for the general population. The public programme, which was launched in 1898, invites anyone interested to 38 lecture courses in Spring Semester 2022. One series of lectures, for example, will pay particular attention to local matters – professors of the University, as well as external teachers, will introduce their audience to exciting stories about the city and region of St.Gallen. All in all, people will be able to select from a wide variety of topics ranging from politics, history, sociology and psychology to art and literature in several languages. The lecture programme always changes every semester.

In 2003, the HSG was the first Swiss university to run a children’s university. The programme introduces pupils to socially relevant issues in addition to what they learn at school. The lectures of this year’s Children’s University in November will focus on salsa, spies, schoolyards and jobs.

Whereas the Children’s University only belongs to the children, the University Library provides all generations with the options of borrowing, research and consultation. Twice a year, the Library also invites everyone to the public reading Das andere Buch an der Uni, where German-language authors read from their new publications and speak about the environment of their works.

Insights into the SQUARE

In mid-February 2022, the SQUARE was ceremonially inaugurated at the University of St.Gallen. At the HSG’s OFFA fair stand, the development of the building from its construction to its completion and inauguration can be traced in moving pictures on a large screen. The SQUARE is a public place; anyone who is interested is invited to drop in on the HSG’s latest and most innovative place of learning at any time.
