Ceremony Erich Walser Generation Prize
The Generation Prize donated by Helvetia in memory of Erich Walser will be awarded to Prof. em. Dr Francois Höpflinger in 2023: for his life's work as a sociologist, in particular as a pioneering researcher on demographic and family sociological issues as well as on the opportunities and challenges in a long-lived society.

Endowed with CHF 20,000, the prize is donated by Helvetia and awarded every three years by the WDA Forum with the involvement of the University of St.Gallen. The jury is made up of delegates from the Board of Directors of WDA Forum AG, Prof. Dr Günter Müller-Stewens from the University of St.Gallen and Philipp Gmür, CEO of Helvetia Group.
