The topic ‘Rethinking Growth’ critically explores the traditional growth paradigm, which has both positive and negative impacts on our economy, society and environment. The topic recognises the need to question existing growth models and explores new metrics that measure prosperity more holistically. This approach acknowledges the benefits of economic growth, but calls for a reflective consideration of its limits and the associated socio-economic and environmental impacts. Through this discussion, we will open up a dialogue on how new technologies and innovative economic practices can help to make growth more sustainable and inclusive, while simultaneously tackling the challenges of a decelerating economy and unequal distribution of resources.
