Studies and military service

The Military Liaison Office advises students and faculty in connection with military (or alternative civilian) service.

We, the Military Liaison Office, are the first contact for all students and doctoral students at our university in all matters concerning military, civil defense or alternative civilian service. We represent your interests against the military authorities, but also against the university. While in certain matters, we are subject to the formalities of the military, we don't take decisions on our own.

We are responsible for Military Service displacement, and on behalf of the commander confirm requests for personal leave.

Our statutory mission extends solely to Swiss conscripts. At the University of St. Gallen however, we are in charge of all military contacts and therefore maintain relations to the relevant foreign authorities.

We also maintain cooperations with the appropriate associations at our university, for example the Officers' Association at the University of St. Gallen.

We gladly offer contacts in order to help you coordinate your military service and your studies as good as possible.
