Information for HSG applicants

Identification number (PIC)
For the application and contractual negotiations with the EU you will require a PIC (partner identification code). This code enables the European Commission to allocate all applications to an institution and therefore saves the applicant from completing the complex validation procedure. The PIC for the University of St.Gallen is 999861742.

Cost model
In the 7th Framework Programme, project partners at the University of St.Gallen must select the full cost model with "Special Transition Flat Rate" as the cost model. You receive a flat rate of 60% of the direct costs of the project to cover its indirect costs (overheads).

EPSS - Electronic submission of project applications
Applications can only be submitted electronically. You can find the link to register in the EPSS (Electronic Proposal Submission System) on the CORDIS website on the relevant call for tender. Section B is only accepted in PDF format.

Subcontracting
Special rules must be observed when subcontracting: for these expenses, no indirect costs (overheads) can be bourght into account and no activities from the core area of the project work may be outsourced to a subcontractor. For more information, refer to our information leaflet.

Signature authorisation
The HSG Institutes are authorised to sign EU contracts themselves. The Institute’s statutes state who is entitled to sign. Should there be problems with the contract negotiations (i.e. after the project proposal has been accepted in principle), Euresearch St.Gallen can issue a certificate of authority. This confirms that the institutes are authorised to conclude contracts themselves.
