Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court
Do you want to take on one of the most innovative, fastest developing and intellectually challenging branches of international economic law?
Be part of the HSG team participating in the 2013/2014 Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court and receive 12 Credits. Investment protection law forms an integral part of international economic law, is of high practical relevance and opens up interesting international professional perspectives for law students.
The Best Advocate will be awarded the McDermott Will & Emery Scholarship for an LL.M. in International and Comparative Dispute Settlement at Queen Mary School of International Arbitration (London). Each member of the Winning Team will receive a scholarship for a three-week placement at The Hague Academy of International Law.
In this international student moot competition you will analyze a legal case, draft legal submissions (skeleton arguments only) and present your arguments orally before arbitral tribunals composed of eminent practitioners and professors.
You will practice your pleadings at leading law firms in Zürich and abroad, including a trip to London.
Apply by sending a letter of motivation (1/2 page), your CV and your university transcript to Prof. Anne van Aaken (anne.vanaaken@unisg.ch) and Lukas Rusch (lukas.rusch@me.com). The application deadline is 17 May 2013. Application is open for MIL, MLaw or MLE students enrolled in both the HS13 and FS14.

- Prof. Theodore Eisenberg: Theodore ist der Henry Allen Mark Professor of Law and Adjunct Professor of Statistical Sciences an der Cornell University. Theodore Eisenberg hat umfassend zum Bereich der empirischen Rechtsforschung recherchiert und ist einer der bekanntesten Forscher in diesem Feld. Prof. Eisenberg wird im Frühlingssemester 2013 als Max Schmidheiny-Stiftung Gastprofessor an der Universität St.Gallen eine Vorlesung zum Thema "Empirical Legal Studies“ halten.
