Switch PWLAN

Switch PWLAN gives students and employees of Swiss universities free Internet access at any time and practically anywhere.

Switch PWLAN offers free Internet access for members of the University of St.Gallen practically all over Switzerland. The PWLAN-service can be used by members of other universities and even HSG visitors with contracts with Monzoon, Swisscom, TheNet or TPN. Switch PWLAN is part of Switch Connect

The network can be accessed via the public network “PublicNet”.

Use of WLAN access is free of charge to members of the University of St. Gallen and other universities. For security reasons, it is recommended that you only access data on the "PublicNet" public network via the VPN client of your own university. Alternatively, members of the HSG can also connect to the Internet through the authentication service via PWLAN Landing Page. Internet access via Monzoon, Swisscom, TheNet or TPN is charged and is carried out via the PWLAN Landing Page.

Sites such as StudyNet, HSG-Email or the university websites are freely accessible on the HSG campus. Other websites that can be accessed without registration are listed on the PWLAN Landing Page or under “Open Links”. These include the SBB timetable and several other sites. All other Internet site visits are automatically rerouted to the PWLAN Landing Page.
