Peer Mentoring
__Navigationsstufe 6
Peer Mentoring aims at young researchers heading towards a career in academia.

We support female researchers in concrete implementation steps with a view to a professorship. Young female researchers join a peer group for a period of one and a half years. With the funds of CHF 16'000 the group can organize activities in order to
- be better networked in the research community,
- extend their own disciplinary and interdisciplinary skills,
- acquire knowledge of gender-specific differences in a research career.
Mentoring relationships are built up on the one hand between successful researchers and the peers, and on the other hand amongst the peers themselves.
Selection process and financing
The selection of projects is carried out by an expert jury. An application process takes place in each case.
Young female researchers at the University of St.Gallen are particularly welcome to apply but young men may also be considered. Young researchers from other universities can be accepted under certain circumstances. A woman from the University of St.Gallen though will lead the peer mentoring group.
The groups will be supported by the “netz+ -HSG Women” project management and are to produce a regular oral report and periodically a written one on adherence to the project’s plan and budget.
