Nov. 2011  On November 24th 2011, the "Public Sector Fair" as a part of go beyond will take place for the fifth time at HSG. Various representatives from international organisations, public institutions and companies with positions in the field of public affairs will be present again. Nov. 2011  Award of the Adolf-Jöhr-foundation for the best degree in the MEcon programme: Mr. Thomas Koch with an average grade of 5,63 (Master thesis, grade 6.0: "Investment and Financial Constraints")
Nov. 2011  Award of the Economic Departments for the best Master thesis in the academic year 2010/11 (1000,- CHF): Ms. Maria Schwarz, MiQEF. Title of the thesis: Exchange rate dynamics and the spillovers from the U.S. stock market - a tree-structured approach
April 2011 Successful 1st Career Day for Economists: Over 150 students and alumni attended the 1st Career Day for Economists. Keynote speeches and career reports of alumni opened the event - speed dates between alumni and students enabled them to broaden their network. The event was a great success - according to the feedbacks of the participants. Therefore we will hold another Career Day for Economists in 2012. Feb. 2011 School of Economics and Political Science (SEPS): Starting Feb. 1, 2011, economists and political scientists are united in the new «School of Economics and Political Science». Within the SEPS, there are two departments, the department of economics and the department of political sciences. The SEPS runs 2 bachelor programmes (VWL and BIA), 3 master programmes (MIA, Mecon, MiQEF) and 2 doctoral programmes (PEF and DIA).

Jan. 2011 Adapted Admission requirements MEcon: Due to the adaptions in the Major in Economics - English proficiency evidence is now required - the MEcon has changed the admission criteria as well: If English is not your native language, you must provide evidence of sufficient English proficiency before the corresponding deadline in order to be considered for admission to this Master's programme.
Dec. 2010 Changes in the Course Regulations: The MEcon course regulations state, that the master thesis must correspond with the MEcon core studies.
