Group of students on the Campus.

The MBF program is intended for holders of a Bachelor's degree in business or economics who, on completion of the Master's program, aim to

  • take up jobs involving practical work in financial institutions such as banks, insurance companies, asset management firms, etc;
  • work for a consulting firm in fields related to financial markets;
  • work as auditors in the fields of banking and insurance;
  • pursue an academic career in finance, banking or insurance management as part of their doctoral studies.

Interest in financial markets and institutions
Students should have a great interest in financial markets and institutions and in the academic issues related to them. They should have strong analytical skills and be interested in dealing with questions of financial market theory or financial services and institutions management in depth. Specialisation in the field of finance will also be contingent on an interest in quantitative methods and their application.

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, London:

portrait of Danielle Brassel.  “At university, I was hardly able to imagine how much influence the MBF Program would have on my future. The knowledge gained in lectures such as Derivative Instruments, Corporate Finance, Pension Finance and Financial Services Management affects essential parts of my daily business nowadays. I got convinced that the conceptual content of the lessons taught at the HSG is absolutely in step with actual practice. I am glad that I was able to enjoy such an effective education.”
