Research seminars

Students are invited to write a seminar paper with a research focus and afterwards to present their findings. In combination with the Master’s thesis, the MBF therefore provides a thorough preparation for a PhD.

In the second or third semester, MBF students have to participate in a research seminar extending to 3 ECTS credits. In this seminar, students are expected to do their own in depth research on an issue of current academic interest. The subject of the seminar contribution may be related to the Master's thesis, i.e. students may research a specific aspect of their Master's thesis in greater depth. The research seminar is conducted as independent studies consisting of 2 semester week hours.

As the research seminar already requires a profound knowledge, we strongly recommend that students attend this course towards the end of the program, i.e., in the second or third MBF semester.
