Each year at Kick-off Day we focus on a current and scientifically relevant topic. Prominent experts regularly take part in our academic program. These have included entrepreneur Bert Twaalfhoven, founder of the European Foundation for Entrepreneurship Research (2004), architect Daniel Libeskind (2005), Miriam Meckel, director of the Institute for Media and Communications Management at the HSG (2010), architect and designer Serge von Arx (2011).

We, the University of St. Gallen, want to encourage you, our students, to use your talents in order to look beyond the obvious and to study your subject with a broad cultural and international perspective.
During the Kick-off Day we provide the opportunity to make up and discuss new and creative ideas. Supported by experts, who also provide a scientific point of view about the topic, more than 400 future decision makers will discuss the topic as one big "think tank".
