Living costs

To fund your studies in St.Gallen, you should plan to have about CHF 1,900 of funds available to you each month.

Budget planning
In order to keep your income and expenditures balanced, we recommend preparing a budget for your studies. The Swiss Budget Advice Centre provides a variety of information as well as helpful templates for drawing up your personal budget.

Residence permit
As a non-Swiss or non-EU citizen, you must have a residence permit for Switzerland. Please note that you must be able to demonstrate a bank balance of at least CHF 2,000 for each month you stay in Switzerland. The bank account must be in your name and the bank must have a branch in Switzerland. More information about residence permits can be found under the following link:
