Funding options

Loans and scholarships are not always sufficient to cover the full cost of studying. In these cases, other funding sources must be found. We have listed some options here.

In Switzerland and in several other countries, parents are responsible for funding the livelihood and education of their children. They are released from this obligation to support their children to the extent that the student can be reasonably expected to finance his or her own livelihood by working or through other means.

Despite a clear legal basis, there are still several points up for discussion: Can or must a portion of the studies be financed by the student? Can parents require that the student lives at home? What standard of living should be supported during studies? These questions must be answered on an individual basis.

Please find some funding options here that go beyond loans and scholarships.
