Specialisations within the DOK programme

The DOK Ph.D. programme is integrated with the research at the University of St.Gallen, particularly with the research group "Kulturen, Insitutionen und Märkte" KIM (Cultures, Institutions and Markets).

Joan Miró's work designed for the University,

The Ph.D. programme in Organisational Studies and Cultural Theory is closely associated with ongoing research at the University of St.Gallen, particularly with the research group "Kulturen, Insitutionen und Märkte" KIM (Cultures, Institutions and Markets).

Integrated into research
The close connection of the research group with the DOK programme also means that students in seminars and colloquia can be integrated into the current university research.

The DOK programme’s teaching is also divided into similar research areas or "tracks", each of which should ideally correspond with one seminar per semester.

The following tracks are offered:

  • Reflexive Practices of Organisation
  • Subjectivity and Cultural Order
  • Cultural and Institutional Aspects of Work Environment Transformation

You can learn more about these on the curriculum page under Coursework stage.

Choose your topical area
These specialisations do not necessarily mean, however, that your thesis concept must be in these fields. Together with your supervisor, you can concentrate on another subject in the field of organisational studies and cultural theory
