Public Defense Philip Schuster 
The public defense of the Ph.D. thesis "Optimal Policy in Models of Search Unemployment with Frictions and Externalities" will take place on Monday, June 4 at 1400 in the room 01-102.

Public Defense Philipp Denter
The public defense of the Ph.D. thesis "Essays on Political Economy Contests" will take place on Tuesday, May 15 at 1800 in the room 01-102.

Econometric Game 2012
The HSG team (Hans Fricke, Simon Knaus, Sascha Kaelin, Mark Wakeling and Kotryna Drasutyte) has been quite successful. It accessed the final stage of the competition, i.e. has been among the best 10 teams (out of 30). Congratulations!

Teaching Assistant Positions for PEF students (VWL B) (Tuesday, 6 September 2011)
Prof. Monika Bütler is looking for teaching assistants in Microeconomics I / Macroeconomics I (Assessment level) for spring semester 2012. Teaching assistants teach classes of approximately 30-40 students and help in drafting and testing problem sets. A teaching assistant is usually responsible for two groups of students. Expected pay is 3'900 CHF per group in case you hold a masters degree.
We offer valuable teaching experience and a funding towards your PhD studies! If you are interested in teaching undergraduates (in German), please send your CV and your Application Letter as soon as possible to Sabine.Mueller@unisg.ch.
Potential teaching assistants who want to teach a class in English: Please let us know in case you are interested, we try our best to make such opportunities work.
