The Department of Russian Culture and Society analyses current phenomena in Russia, Eastern Europe and the Black Sea region.

 

Russia is one of the most interesting and dynamic cultures on the Eurasian continent. A knowledge of imperial, Soviet and post-communist traditions is necessary in order to be able to understand the current situation. We especially emphasize the socio-cultural interpretation of economic and political processes.
