Handelsblatt Economics Ranking

The Handelsblatt Economics Ranking identifies the best researchers among economists in the German-speaking area. Our department regularly scores very highly in the Handelsblatt Ranking.
The Handelsblatt has been analyzing research performance of German-speaking economists and Economics faculties for four years, on the basis of current international standards for the evaluation of economic research: it counts publications in academic journals.
The Handelsblatt ranking is based on a database containing the publications of over 1,700 researchers from at least 90 universities in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland - over 21,000 in total. Since 2010, Handelsblatt has been working on this in cooperation with the Thurgau Economics Institute at the University of Constance and the KOF Swiss Economic Institute of the ETH Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, which produce the study in accordance with the Handelsblatt.
