Brown Bag Seminar

A Brown Bag Seminar is an informal meeting with a guest speaker giving a talk about his or her current research.

Participants can bring their "lunch" and eat it during the discussion. At American universities professors and students use to bring their lunch in brown paper bags. Therefore, Brown Bag Seminar refers to an unconstrained academic meeting.
