Study Award
Awards for students of Master's Programs in Economics (MEcon and MiQE/F) for the best master's thesis.
Prize money: CHF 1000.- sponsered by three Economics Intitutes of the University of St.Gallen:
- SEW-HSG Swiss Institute for Empirical Economic Research
- FGN-HSG Institute of Economics
- SIAW-HSG Swiss Institute for International Economics and Applied Economic Research
Award ceremony: once a year at the Master's Graduation Day in the fall semester.
Target group: all students (MiQE/F & MEcon) who received their degree in economics in the respective year.
Winner of the Award for the Best Master's Thesis in Economics in the academic year 2010/2011:
| Maria Schwarz (MiQE/F graduate) was awarded for the best Master's Thesis in Economics from the president of the University of St.Gallen, Prof. Dr. Thomas Bieger., at the Master's Graduation Day on 8th October 2011 for her thesis: "Exchange rate dynamics and the spillovers from the U.S. stock market - a tree-structured approach". |
Winner of the Award for the Best Master's Thesis in Economics in the academic year 2009/2010:
| Jürg Sandmeier (MEcon graduate) was awarded for the best Master's Thesis in Economics from the president of the University of St.Gallen, Prof. Ernst Mohr Ph.D., at the Master's Graduation Day on 4th October 2010 for his thesis: "International Index Returns and Trading Volume: An Investigation of the Causal Return-Volume Relationship and Volume-based Momentum Strategies". |
