Contract with the EU

When institutes conclude contracts with the EU, certain formalities must be complied with. These concern the contractual partner as a legal entity and the regulation on signatures.

Verification of the legal entity for the EU contract
Contractual partner of the EU is always the University of St.Gallen as a whole and not the institute concerned. The reason is that in legal terms the HSG institutes are not independent legal entities, but parts of the University. Otherwise each institute would have to verify its existence with the aid of a founding document and present balance sheets.

In order to ensure that negotiations with the EU run smoothly, it is important that "Universität St. Gallen" (in German) is entered as applicant and contractor and not the institute in question.

The University of St.Gallen is registered in the EU Commission's central database as a contractual partner under partner identification code, or PIC, 999861742.
