Propose or become an evaluator
The EU Commission offers academics and experts the chance to register as evaluators to assess project proposals.
The EU Commission uses a database to find suitable evaluators for project proposals and to seek experts who can support the Commission on specific issues or measures.
Responsibilities
The evaluators are sent the EU project proposals for assessment and have about a week to submit their evaluation. At a subsequent meeting with the other evaluators for the same project proposals in Brussels, the evaluators agree on a joint assessment of the proposal.
Personal registration
You can register personally to be an evaluator of EU project applications by entering a brief research profile and your contact information on the Commission’s database.
Nominating evaluators
Organisations (e.g. the HSG) can also nominate evaluators for FP7 project proposals. If you know people with the skills required (from academia or industry) who you would like as evaluators for your future projects, then please send us the following details about the person:
- surname, first name
- E-mail address
- research area
We will propose the person on behalf of the HSG. The EU Commission checks whether he or she is already in the expert database. If this is not the case, he or she will be invited directly by the Commission to register as an evaluator.
