Information on EndNote Web / EndNote
EndNote Web is a reference management tool free to use for all members of the University of St.Gallen. Access to the library's catalogue is pre-configured.
EndNote Web (free) - web-based reference management tool
The University of St.Gallen has licensed several databases from Thomson Reuters ISI (Web of Knowledge). In addition to searching the databases you are entitled to use EndNote Web for free as long as you are a member of the University of St.Gallen. Endnote Web is a webbased reference management tool, allowing to store up to 10.000 references in your own library. Access to our own HSG library catalogue is already pre-configured, i.e. additional settings are not needed. Just open «Select...» and choose U St.Gallen from the list. In order to activate your EndNote Web account you should go to the EndNote Web homepage and register for the service.
EndNote (premium software, desktop): Access to our library catalogue
EndNote requires a «connection file» with the following information:
| Server description |
HSG Aleph (any text) |
| Server address |
aleph.unisg.ch |
| Database description |
HSG Main Library (any text) |
| Database name |
HSB01 |
| Element set name |
F |
| PortID |
9991 |
| Record syntax |
USMARC [or MARC-21, depending on the EndNote version] |
| Text |
UTF-8 |
As a second profile, you can also indicate HSB02 (institute libraries and external users) or a «Scan Library» like FHB, PHS or MCM as a database. In this case, the «database description» entry must be amended accordingly.
